Anyone could vote, there was no restriction on age, gender or country. Even non-riders could vote. No registration, nor email addresses were required. However, a system of storing and analyzing IP addresses was put in place to minimize duplicate voting.

About MBI MBI (whose motto is “Riding and writing is what we do”) is a group of 161 international motorcycle weblog authors from China to Chile.

Membership is open to any motorcycle rider who maintains an active motorcycle-related Internet weblog or news web site with original commentary. With a combined readership over 5 million readers per month, the awards represent a true feeling what lives amongst the biker communities. The awards are not given by professional journalists, commercial publications or companies, but by the public.

Top 10 Places to Play Pool If You Ride 2-Wheels

Tuesday, July 10th, 2007

The July issue on Good Times magazine is hot off the press and available for you to pick up in the usual locations.

In it, is the latest installment of our Rubber Side Down column in which we created a Top 10 list of places to play pool for bikers. Not that these places are just for bikers. But rather that you will likely find a few (or a lot) at any of the places mentioned at any given time.

To fit in a little better with the overall ‘tone’ of Good Times, this article is a little ‘edgier’ than our past offerings. Don’t fret, however. We don’t think there is anything in there that would get us censored! :-)

Enjoy!

Rsd Logo Pic-1 It just occurred to me that I hadn’t yet posted our Rubber Side Down article for June. And here we are almost into July!

Our June article was primarily a recap of our recent travels to the Hill County with a few other tidbits thrown in.

We hope you enjoy it!

Dispelling Myths – Getting Inspired with Choppers

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007

The May 2007 issue of Good Times magazine is out. And with it, our Rubber Side Down column.

For this month, we visited with local motorcycle shop owner, Gary Rees; rode choppers and toured the American IronHorse factory in Fort Worth.

You can read the entire article below. Or, if you are in the Midland/Odessa area, you can pick up a copy while you are out and about.

You never know… Someday, it may be a collectors item!

Rubber Side Down for April

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2007

Be on the lookout for the April issue of Good Times magazine, which should be in the usual locations now.

For the April issue, we wrote about Mark Pollock, fellow motorcyclist and co-founder of the Dallas Guitar Show. Mark also owns Transpecos Guitars in Alpine, where he is known as a guitar whisperer with his uncanny ability to make a guitar sing any tune he pleases.

The Dallas Guitar Show, which Mark produces today, is the largest show of its kind anywhere. It will be held later this month at Dallas Market Hall April 20, 21 & 22. You can learn more about the Show at www.guitarshow.com.

We are going to make a road trip out of it and while we are there cruise by the Easyriders V-Twin Bike Tour at Dallas Fairpark Centennial Hall. And, of course a classic must-do is the pre-party Friday night at Strokers! We surely won’t be missing that!

Below is an excerpt of our article from the April issue of Good Times Magazine that talks about all of this fun stuff. For the full article, click on the pic below. It’s a really great story with lots of pictures!

You gotta love a guy who invites a girl to ride on the back of his ’91 H-D Springer for a date—from Dallas to Austin and back—with no sissy bar! It was her first ride ever on a motorcycle and now she is his wife of eight years! According to Mark Pollock, guitar whisperer and owner of TransPecos Guitars in Alpine, “not only did she say yes, but she never complained, not even once. How could I not marry a girl like that?” We agree Mary is a ‘keeper’!
