For These Women, Golf Means Business

Wednesday, March 15th, 2006

This article was the only article I had the privilege to write for Texas Women’s Golf & Leisure. I was invited to write a reporting style piece on the Executive Women’s Golf Association by interviewing a handful of its members across Texas. The angle was to be about women golfers and how the game of golf has helped them in their respective businesses. Being a brand new golfer, I jumped at the chance and it was truly a great experience to interview these women that I otherwise would not have had the chance to get to know, even if it was on the telephone!

The Secret to Success

Monday, March 6th, 2006

This article addresses the fact that our tendency as Entrepreneurs is to to spend most of our time in the past or future, but, in fact, all of our power lies in the present moment. It goes on to state that your success as an Entrepreneur is directly proportional to your ability to stay in the present moment. It delves further into the notion that our basic fundamental beliefs drive our behavior (see also Common Mistakes in Business that I wrote for the Tumbleweed), suggests that success is a result, and there are no quick fixes, but yet we seem to persist in acting as if there is a better, easier, quicker way. It also hints of the power of willingness.

Are You A Business Owner or An Entrepreneur?

Wednesday, March 1st, 2006

This was my very first article to write for Nuestra Cultura magazine. Nuestra Cultura is Spanish for “Our Culture” and is a magazine targeted at Hispanics and the issues that are on top of their mind.

This particular article presents the notion that there is a difference between a business owner and an Entrepreneur. In short, owning a business makes you a business owner, but it does not make you an Entrepreneur. Being an Entrepreneur is a mindset, not a state of being.

This article was published in the March/April 2006 issue of Nuestra Cultura magazine.
